Two Florida Tournaments, Big Finishes, and Momentum for July

Two Florida Tournaments, Big Finishes, and Momentum for July

The last two weeks have been a whirlwind for the Rising Sons team, with back-to-back tournament weekends in Florida that delivered high-stakes competition, serious catches, and big wins.

Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic

We kicked things off in Sandestin at the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic (ECBC), one of the Gulf’s most competitive and iconic tournaments. 78 boats were on the hunt, battling it out for a staggering $1.8 million purse. After long hours on the water and plenty of grind, we released one blue marlin and weighed in a 168-pound tuna, which held strong for 2nd place in the tuna division. That fish alone earned us a $78,436 payout, setting the tone for what would be a strong run in Florida.

Baypoint Billfish Open

Just one weekend later, we were back at it in the Baypoint Billfish Open, competing against nearly 90 boats chasing a $1.6 million total purse. The bite was tougher, but our crew stayed locked in. We released one blue marlin and weighed two solid tunas, earning us 3rd and 5th place finishes across the categories and bringing home $135,036 in prize money. That brought our two-week total to over $213,000 in winnings—a testament to the effort and execution of our entire team.

July: No Slowing Down

We’re carrying that momentum straight into a jam-packed July. First up: the Sport Fishing Championship’s Pensacola International Billfish Tournament, followed immediately by the Blue Marlin World Cup on July 4th—a one-day, winner-takes-all global tournament where every bite counts and the stakes are sky-high.

The grind doesn’t stop, and neither do we. Thank you to our sponsors, our crew, and everyone supporting us behind the scenes. July, we’re coming for you.
